Résumé
À la suite de la tradition mazdéenne, l’érudition occidentale a cherché dans l’Avesta la biographie de Zarathushtra, privilégiant dès lors son corpus le plus ancien, les Gāthās. C’est plutôt l’interprétation des Gāthās par les textes avestiques récents qui construit la figure du prophète mazdéen, archétype du sacrifiant.

Abstract
Following the Mazdean tradition, Western scholars looked for Zarathushtra’s biography in the older Avesta, especially in the Gāthās. It is rather the younger Avesta which interprets the Gāthās in order to build the figure of the Mazdean prophet, archetype of the sacrificer.
